Complete mud pressure monitoring system rated to 10,000 PSI with 6-inch fluid-filled gauge, diaphragm protector, hose, and hand pump for drilling rig mud pump applications.

Mud pressure monitoring sounds straightforward until the gauge gets destroyed. Drilling mud is abrasive, pulsating, and unforgiving on instruments. The CMG100 system addresses that with a complete monitoring package — gauge, diaphragm protector, high-pressure hose, and hand pump — designed to work together as a unit.

The 6-inch fluid-filled gauge reads up to 10,000 PSI on a single-pointer dial. Fluid filling damps needle oscillation, which is a real problem on mud pump lines where pressure pulses can make an air-filled gauge unreadable. The rubber diaphragm protector sits between the process fluid and the gauge internals, keeping mud out of the bourdon tube. An optional piston-type protector is also available for more aggressive service conditions.

Key features

  • 10,000 PSI maximum pressure — covers the working range of most mud pump systems on land and offshore rigs
  • 6-inch dial with fluid filling — damps vibration and pulsation so the needle holds still enough to actually read
  • Diaphragm protector keeps drilling mud out of the gauge mechanism, extending service life significantly
  • Complete system includes gauge, protector, high-pressure hose, and hand pump — arrives ready to install
  • Box mount or panel mount options fit different rig floor and control room configurations
  • Single pointer display for fast, unambiguous pressure readings during operations

Applications

Primarily used for monitoring mud pump discharge pressure on drilling rigs. The system mounts at the driller’s console or on the pump skid, depending on the rig layout. It also works for standpipe pressure monitoring, choke manifold gauging, and any application where high-pressure drilling fluids need continuous pressure indication. The diaphragm protector makes it viable for extended service without the frequent gauge replacements that plague unprotected installations.

Why this product matters

Mud pump pressure is one of the first indicators of downhole trouble. A plugged bit nozzle, a washout, a kick — they all show up as pressure changes. If the gauge is stuck, fogged, or full of dried mud, the driller misses those signals. The CMG100 system stays readable because the fluid fill damps the pulsation and the diaphragm keeps the mud where it belongs — outside the gauge. The result is a pressure reading the driller can actually trust.

Additional information

The hand pump included in the system is used to fill and pressurise the hose and protector assembly with clean fluid during initial setup. The diaphragm should be inspected periodically for wear, especially in high-solids mud systems. If installing in a high-vibration location, confirm mounting hardware is rated for the environment. An optional piston-type protector can replace the diaphragm version for applications with higher solid content or pressure spikes.
