Lifting Cap Red & Blue

The Lifting Cap is a heavy-duty oilfield pipe handling tool designed to provide a safe, high-strength lifting point on drill pipe tool joints, drill collars, stabilizers, crossover subs, and other API-threaded tubulars and downhole components during rig floor handling, transportation, and storage operations across oil and gas drilling sites in the UAE, GCC, and wider MENA region.

Machined from AISI 4145H high-strength chromium-molybdenum alloy steel — the same grade used in the manufacture of drill collars, tool joints, and premium downhole drilling equipment — the lifting cap delivers the mechanical toughness, yield strength, and shock resistance required for safe load-bearing during lifting and handling operations. AISI 4145H is supplied in the hardened and tempered condition and is specifically chosen for oilfield lifting and handling tools due to its superior fatigue resistance and high tensile strength under dynamic loading.

The lifting cap threads directly onto the pin or box end of API-standard tool joints using precision-machined API threads — including Numerical Connection (NC), Regular (Reg / REG), and Inner Flat (IF) thread profiles — providing a secure threaded connection that eliminates the risk of thread damage, contamination, and accidental drops during crane lifts, catwalk operations, and pipe rack storage. The integrated lifting eye on top of the cap provides a dedicated, load-rated lift point for slings, shackles, and crane hooks, ensuring the tubular is lifted vertically and on-centre without damaging the pin or box thread face.

Available in red and blue industrial protective coating finish — colour-coded to allow rig floor personnel and pipe yard crews to visually distinguish pin-end (typically red) and box-end (typically blue) configurations at a glance, reducing make-up errors during high-pressure tripping and tubular running operations.

The lifting cap is available in 11 thread configurations covering the most common API drill pipe, drill collar, and tool joint connections used across onshore and offshore drilling operations in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Muscat, Dammam, and Doha:
