Type F-F flanged mud gauge — 15,000 PSI and 20,000 PSI. 4-7/8″ dial, liquid-filled, –50°C to +65°C. Standpipe and mud pump pressure monitoring. UAE and GCC oilfield supplier.

On an active drilling rig, the standpipe mud gauge is one of the most critical instruments on the floor. It tells the driller, in real time, exactly what the mud pump is doing — and when the numbers stop making sense, that is often the first warning that something underground has gone wrong. The Type F-F Mud Gauge (Flanged) is built for exactly that environment: high-cycle, high-pressure, and very little patience for instruments that drift, stick, or give ambiguous readings.

The Type F-F is a standpipe-pattern mud pump pressure gauge with a flanged base connection, available in two pressure ratings — 15,000 PSI for standard high-pressure drilling operations, and 20,000 PSI for ultra-deep, high-temperature, and extended-reach well applications that push the limits of conventional pump pressure. Both variants use a 4-7/8″ diameter dial case in the compact Type F profile — a design that has been a fixture on drilling rigs for decades and remains the standard format for standpipe and pump-mounted pressure monitoring across the global oilfield.

What sets the F-F apart from the standard Type F threaded gauge is the flanged base. Where a threaded connection is vulnerable to galling, cross-threading, and seal degradation in the corrosive, high-vibration environment of a mud system, a flanged connection bolts directly to a matching flange on the standpipe manifold or pump discharge header — providing a metal-to-metal seated connection that holds pressure without the risk of thread failure or connection loosening under cyclic load. This makes the F-F configuration the preferred choice on high-spec rigs, HPHT wells, and offshore platforms in the Arabian Gulf where standpipe pressure can see significant transient spikes during pump start-up, connection surges, and swab-surge events.

The gauge mechanism itself is liquid-filled, which dampens needle flutter from pump pulsation and rig vibration — the two things that destroy standard dry gauges quickly in a drilling environment. The operating temperature range of –50°C to +65°C covers the full span from arctic rig conditions through to the heat of UAE and Saudi Arabian desert summer operations, where exposed instrument panels can reach extreme ambient temperatures during daylight shifts.

Equivalent to and interchangeable with Cameron Type F flanged gauge configurations. Compatible with API-standard standpipe manifold flange connections. Widely used on land rigs, jackup platforms, and semi-submersibles operating across Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Muscat, Dammam, Doha, and across the broader MENA drilling sector.
